Dear Commissioner Menz,
I am disappointed to hear that you are opposing the Hiawatha Golf Course Area Master Plan. Please be true to the values you ran on and vote YES to support the plan! It’s vital that we deal with the flooding and pollution , and that we pass a plan that takes all park users into account.
Thanks,

If you live in his district, be sure to mention that!
Billy’s stance doesn’t line up
Menz is a science teacher…
…but he is basing his decision to oppose the master plan on no factual evidence.
Menz ran for park board to improve youth sports…
…but he is opposing a plan to build a modern 9-hole golf course with learning facilities and an indoor simulator that would help beginners learn the sport.
Menz led the effort to formally adopt an MPRB Land Acknowledgement honoring the Indigenous peoples who inhabited this land for thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans…
…but he is voting to continue polluting the waters and keep an 18-hole golf course that erases the history of the Dakota people who consider Lake Hiawatha part of Bdote, their sacred homeland.
Menz chairs his school’s Green Team and ran on a platform to “protect our river with climate resiliency”…
…but he is voting to do nothing to fix the trash and phosphorous that pollutes Lake Hiawatha and flows downstream to the creek and river, nor to fix the flooding that will occur more often in a warming climate.
